Another nervous father-to-be, Ralph Davis, is somewhat embittered when, after his six hour vigil, Darrin's baby arrives first.

It's a boy and Grandpa Maurice wants to make sure, everybody likes him, so he casts a spell on all who gaze at the new baby. Even after Davis' child is born, he is mesmerized by the Stephens' child. Larry Tate, also under the influence, insists that the child is photographically perfect for the new label on Busby's Baby Foods. Despite Samantha and Darrin's negative reception of the idea, Larry proceeds to bring in a camera crew for the "test" screening. When Endora arrives to see her new grandchild, she reminds her daughter that the baby's publicity might not fare well with the Witches Council -- still brewing over Samantha's marriage to a mortal. Maurice casts a spell, which gets the others out of the house while he argues with Samantha and Darrin about the name. When Darrin flatly refuses any change, Maurice puts him under a spell and freezes him into the hall mirror.

On returning, his parents are astounded to see Darrin in the mirror. Samantha explains that Maurice has invented a photo-mirror that retains an image. Intrigued by its money-making possibilities, Frank has a long talk with Maurice and casually mentions he hates the name "Frank." Later, Maurice releases Darrin and reveals his father's dislike of the name. Summers, head of marketing for Multiple Industries.

Only after they have "popped" the furniture back and forth do they realize that Darrin's mother, Mrs. Stephens, is standing in a state of shock watching the spectacle. She is convinced she is losing her mind. When Darrin arrives, Samantha tells him what happened and that the only thing to do is to tell his mother the truth - that she is a witch. Darrin finally agrees and Samantha puts on a little "show of witch power" for Mrs. Stephens. A little skeptical at first, Mrs. Stephens seems to be calmer and surer of her sanity but when her husband, Mr. Stephens, arrives, she blurts the "secret" to him. When Samantha tries to show her powers to Mr. Stephens, nothing happens - as the Witches Council has temporarily removed her powers because she told Mrs. Stephens about being a witch. Now, Mrs. Stephens is absolutely convinced she has lost her mind and quite dramatically leaves a note for her husband and commits herself to a nursing home. Samantha, her power restored, finds Mrs. Stephens. When one of the ladies at the nursing home takes one of Mrs. Stephens tranquilizers, Samantha arranges for her to see some very strange things. The result is that the doctor examines the pills from Mrs. Stephens bottle (which Samantha has "doctored") and announces they are not tranquilizers but a hallucinogenic. When Larry asks Darrin to join he and Mr. Braddock for lunch, Darrin has Larry called away from the table on a phony telephone call. When alone he makes quite clear to Mr. Braddock that most of the good work being done on the account is due to Darrin's efforts, not Larry's. Later, Mr. Braddock requests that Darrin handle the account.

When he arrives home, Darrin has no time for the children nor can he eat dinner with Samantha as he is too busy preparing his "climb to the top." In an effort to undermine Larry's position in the firm, Darrin invites Mr. and Mrs. McMann (the senior partner in Larry's firm) for dinner. All goes well and Darrin has convinced Mr. McMann that the firm needs young blood in command - namely, Darrin. The Tates unexpectedly arrive. AGNES MOOREHEAD-as Endora
DAVID WHITE as Larry Tate
MABEL ALBERTSON as Mrs. Stephens

SYNOPSIS

Endora unexpectedly interrupts Samantha's anniversary celebration and brings a painting for a present. The painting is exactly like the Mona Lisa with the obvious exception of' the face which is unmistakably Samantha's. The artist's signature has also changed and in the place of Leonardo Da Vinci is Darrin Stephens. Darrin, with his usual modesty, goes along with the plot and doesn't reject Louise Tate's suggestion that he should be painting for a living. Darrin, whose real painting experience has been limited to painting the kitchen, turns away his first commission -- that of painting Louise -- on the grounds that he's a little rusty after years of inactivity. Upon her insistence, Darrin arranges for Samantha to cast a spell that would bring out the Da Vinci in him to enable him to paint Louise.

With a kiss and a twitch from his wife, Darrin -- singing "Figaro" in a falsetto voice -- makes contact with the canvas. The expected masterpiece turns out to be a cartoon-like caricature of Larry's wife. Not especially enjoying the joke, Larry threatens to have the last laugh by firing Darrin. Larry looks to Sam for a favorable twitch and she comes through just before Louise gets a chance to see the artistic "atrocity." The newly twitched canvas is indeed a fine painting and Larry, not understanding how it could have changed, is pleased with Darrin. Samantha makes up an excuse so that Darrin won't have to paint again. She says he gave up painting because he has an allergic reaction to paint. Darrin takes the hint and gives a big "a-chew!" thereby sneezing himself out of a canvas career.

Darrin's office worries are further harried by having to endure Endora on the home front. Samantha, sensing Darrin's dilemma, gives him a large amulet resembling a "peace symbol." She explains that it's an old piece of family jewelry which in the presence of Endora, makes her unbelievably sweet and accommodating.

Darrin soon has Endora virtually eating out of his hand. It isn't until Esmeralda comes to baby sit for Samantha and mistakes the amulet for a love charm that Darrin loses his power over Endora. She becomes aware of what's been happening and as revenge, casts a spell on Darrin and Samantha that makes them constantly insult each other. Meanwhile, Larry brings Mr. Sunshine over and is unimpressed by the Stephens' non-stop spat and both visitors leave before dessert. Samantha, using the amulet, gets her mother to uncast her spell then casts one of her own.
